Hollow concrete blocks are common in Dubai and swallow ordinary plugs. Long plugs or resin anchors grip the inner webs of the block so frames stay put.
Bathrooms and kitchens are often tiled. We drill through grout lines where possible and use tile bits without hammer action, so tiles do not crack.
