On a typical villa repaint, preparation takes as long as painting. Skipping it is why some exteriors peel within a year. We never paint over dust, chalk or loose paint.
After washing, walls must dry before sealing and painting. In Dubai that is usually the next day, unless the walls are shaded or humid.

Good quality exterior acrylic paint usually lasts five to seven years in Dubai, and elastomeric or premium UV-resistant systems can last longer. Walls facing west and south fade faster because of the strong sun.
