Species

Hardwood Species for Dubai Homes

European Oak

The most popular hardwood, stable and versatile. It takes stains well. Natural, smoked and white-washed finishes are common.

American Walnut

Rich, dark brown timber with beautiful grain. It suits luxury villas. It shows dust more than lighter woods.

Teak

Naturally oily timber that handles humidity well. It has a warm golden colour. It suits classic interiors.

Wide-Plank Engineered

Extra-wide planks on a stable core. They look spacious and modern. They suit large open-plan rooms.

Choosing

Solid vs Engineered vs SPC Floors

FloorStrengthsBest For
Solid HardwoodSand many times, very long lifeStable climates, villas
Engineered HardwoodStable with AC, real wood surfaceMost Dubai homes
SPC Wood-LookWaterproof, very toughKitchens, rentals, busy areas
LaminateAffordable, quick to fitBudget refreshes

Hardwood That Suits Air Conditioning

Solid hardwood moves with humidity, which can cause gaps and cupping in homes where AC runs constantly. Engineered hardwood is far more stable and is our usual recommendation for Dubai.

In kitchens and rentals, SPC wood-look flooring offers the appearance of timber with full water resistance.

For parquet blocks, see parquet installation. For refinishing, see hardwood refinishing, and for levelling, subfloor preparation.

Hardwood Flooring in Dubai: FAQs

How Much Does Hardwood Flooring Cost in Dubai?

Engineered oak starts from about AED 180 per square metre supplied and installed. Solid hardwood, walnut and wide planks are quoted by product. Prices vary and can change depending on your exact requirements, the materials and access to the property, so the final price is confirmed after we see photos or visit.

Do You Offer Custom Parquet Flooring Designs and Colours?

Yes. We install herringbone, chevron, basket weave and other patterns, with borders and inlays, and stain or oil the floor to the colour you choose.

How Can I Restore Old or Damaged Parquet Wooden Flooring in Dubai?

Most parquet can be restored. Loose blocks are re-fixed, damaged ones replaced, then the floor is sanded back to fresh timber, gaps filled and resealed with lacquer or oil. Engineered parquet can usually be sanded a few times depending on its wear layer.

How Often Should Wooden Floors Be Polished?

In busy Dubai homes, a maintenance polish or recoat every 12 to 24 months keeps the finish protected. Full sanding is only needed when the finish is worn through to bare wood.
