A dated dining table, an orange-toned bed frame or a scratched sideboard can look new with a fresh finish. We sand back solid wood and veneer furniture and stain, paint or varnish it in the colour you want, at home or in our workshop.
01 / Pieces
Tops take the most wear from plates, heat and cleaning. They are sanded, stained and sealed with a hard-wearing finish. Legs can be painted in a contrast colour.
Orange-toned timber updated to modern oak, walnut or painted finishes. Joints are tightened while we work. The bedroom feels new.
Case furniture refinished with new or original handles. Veneer is sanded carefully. Drawers are eased so they run smoothly.
Chairs reglued and refinished in matching sets. Painted chairs suit modern dining rooms. Seats can be reupholstered by our partners.
02 / Process
We check whether it is solid wood or veneer and how much it can be sanded.
Old finishes are removed and the surface sanded smooth.
Stain is applied evenly, or primer for a painted finish.
Varnish, lacquer or oil is applied for protection.
New Look
A new finish can make dated furniture feel modern.
We sand, stain or paint and seal furniture to last.
Solid wood can be sanded deeply and stained any colour. Veneer has a thin wood layer, so we sand it lightly to avoid breaking through, and painting is often the safer choice for heavily worn veneer.
Changing from dark to light stain usually needs bleaching or painting, because dark stain soaks deep into the grain.
For repairs first, see furniture repair and restoration. For cabinets, see cabinet and wardrobe staining, and for colours, custom colour stains.

Paint covers the wood with an opaque colour and hides the grain. Stain soaks in and changes the colour while keeping the grain visible. Varnish or lacquer is a clear protective coat on top. Many jobs combine a stain with a varnish or oil.
We stock natural, oak, teak, walnut, mahogany, ebony, grey and white-wash tones from trusted brands, and can mix custom shades. We test samples on your timber before staining.
Matte looks natural and hides marks, satin is a practical middle ground for furniture and doors, and gloss is the most wipeable but shows scratches. Most Dubai homes choose matte or satin.
