Ceiling-Mounted Curtain Tracks in Dubai

When the glass runs from floor to ceiling, the curtain has to hang from the ceiling too. We fit slim aluminium tracks to concrete slabs, gypsum ceilings and recessed pockets, so the fabric drops in one clean line and blocks the light at the top.

Floor to Ceiling

Ceiling-Mounted Curtain Tracks for Floor to Ceiling Glass

Floor to ceiling glass is one of the best features of a Dubai tower apartment, until the sun rises at 5:30am. A ceiling-mounted track lets the curtain start right at the ceiling, closing the light gap that wall rods leave open.

We fit single, double, ripple fold and motorised tracks into concrete slabs, gypsum ceilings and recessed curtain pockets. Long runs are aligned with a laser so the curtain hem stays straight across the full width of the glass.

Why Ceiling-Mounted Curtain Tracks Block More Light

A rod on the wall sits a few centimetres in front of the glass and below the ceiling. Light spills over the top and around the sides. In a Dubai bedroom facing east, that strip of light arrives well before 6am in summer.

A ceiling track closes that gap. The curtain starts right at the ceiling, so there is nothing for the light to get over. Add returns at each end and blackout curtains finally do what they promise.

Fixing Curtain Tracks to Concrete, Gypsum and Pelmet Ceilings

Concrete Slab

Common in older buildings, some villas and apartments without a false ceiling. A concrete slab takes masonry plugs directly and carries the heaviest blackout and lined curtains with ease. We scan first for electrical conduits that often run inside the slab.

Gypsum False Ceiling

The standard finish in most Dubai apartments. The gypsum board hangs on a metal grid, so we fix into the metal channels above the board or use cavity anchors rated for the load. For heavy curtains we add extra fixing points near each end of the track.

Recessed Curtain Pocket

A slot built into the ceiling along the window, found in many newer towers and villas. The track hides inside the pocket, so you see only the fabric dropping from the ceiling line. We measure the pocket depth and width first to choose a track that fits.

Single, Double, Ripple Fold and Motorised Ceiling Tracks

Single Track
Carries one layer of curtain, usually a lined blackout curtain in a bedroom. It is the slimmest and lowest-cost option. A single track also suits a sheer on its own in a room that does not need darkness.
Double Track
Holds a sheer at the front and a blackout curtain behind, each running on its own channel. It is the most popular setup in Dubai living rooms. You can use the sheer by day and close both layers at night.
Ripple Fold Track
Uses carriers set at a fixed spacing, so the fabric falls in even, soft waves. Ripple fold, also called wave, curtains stack neatly at each end. They suit modern interiors and wide glass walls.
Motorised Track
Opens and closes by remote, wall switch or smart home app. The motor needs a power point near one end of the track. Motorised tracks are ideal for very wide or high windows that are hard to reach.

Installing Long Ceiling Curtain Tracks Straight and Level

Gypsum ceilings are rarely perfectly level across a four metre window, and a track that follows every dip shows it in the hem of the curtain. We set a laser line first and pack the brackets where needed so the track runs dead straight.

Bracket spacing depends on the weight of the fabric. For sheers, one bracket every 80 cm is enough. For lined blackout curtains we close that to 50 or 60 cm, and on gypsum we add an extra fixing near each end where the stacked curtain hangs when open.

Wall rods still make sense for standard windows with a wall above them. Our page on curtain rod, track and rail installation in Dubai compares the options, and the wider curtain installation in Dubai guide covers blinds and motorised systems. Tools and Materials

Tools, Materials and Products We Use for Ceiling-Mounted Curtain Tracks

Ceiling Track Profiles

Single, double and ripple fold aluminium tracks. Each suits a different curtain heading and layering setup. All are slim enough to look almost invisible on the ceiling.

Ceiling Clips and Brackets

Clips that fix the track to concrete slabs or the metal grid above gypsum. Close spacing keeps long runs straight under heavy fabric. Stacking ends get additional fixings.

Ripple Fold Carriers

Carriers set at fixed spacing for even, wave-shaped folds. They stack neatly at each end of the window. Ripple fold is the most requested style for glass walls.

Track Motors

Quiet motors that open and close the curtain by remote, switch or app. They need a power point near one end of the track. Motor-ready tracks can be upgraded later.

Why Choose Wamtech Services for Ceiling-Mounted Curtain Tracks in Dubai

Based in Al Barsha since 2014, we work across every Dubai community with trade-specialist technicians and a workmanship guarantee on every job.

01

Glass Walls Are Our Routine

Floor to ceiling glass in Marina, Downtown and Business Bay towers is something we fit every week. We know the pockets, bulkheads and grid ceilings in these buildings. Long runs are planned before we arrive.

02

Light Gaps Closed

Tracks start at the ceiling line, with returns at the ends when needed. Blackout curtains finally block the early sunrise. Bedrooms stay dark until you want them bright.

03

Laser-Level Installation

Brackets are set to a laser line rather than measured from a sloping ceiling. The rod or track sits perfectly level across the window. Hems then hang evenly from one side to the other.

04

Tidy, Guaranteed Work

Dust sheets go down before drilling and every offcut is taken away. Every job carries our workmanship guarantee. If a fixing we made works loose, we come back and correct it.
