Blackout curtains are heavy, and in Dubai almost every bedroom has them. A full-length blackout panel with a lining can weigh several kilos, and a wide window may carry four of them. That weight pulls on the brackets every time the curtains are drawn, which is why cheap plastic plugs in gypsum often work loose within a year.
We match the fixing to the surface. Concrete lintels above villa windows take expansion plugs. Gypsum pelmet boxes and dropped ceilings take cavity anchors or a fix into the metal channel behind the board. For long ceiling tracks we add a bracket roughly every 60 to 80 cm so the track stays straight under load.
Ripple fold curtains need a track with the correct carrier spacing, and pinch pleats need hooks set at the right height so the heading hides the track. Sheer and blackout layers usually sit on a double track or a double rod. If your windows run across a whole wall, read our guide to ceiling-mounted tracks in Dubai.
This service is part of our wider curtain installation in Dubai, which also covers blinds, motorised curtains and rental-friendly no-drill rods.
