Window Direction
West-facing rooms get strong late afternoon sun across the screen. East-facing rooms get it in the morning. We place the TV at right angles to the main window where possible.

Holes in the wall are permanent, so the position should be right first time. We visit, look at your seating, windows and walls, and mark the best spot for the screen before anyone drills.
Plan First
The right TV position depends on where you sit, where the sun comes in and what the wall is made of. Get one of those wrong, and you end up with neck strain, glare or a bracket that will not hold.
During a consultation we check all three in your room, at the time of day you usually watch. We tape the screen outline on the wall at the recommended height, so you can sit down and judge it yourself before deciding.

For a 4K screen, sit between one and one and a half times the screen diagonal away. A 65 inch TV suits a sofa 1.7 to 2.5 metres from the wall.
Many LED panels lose colour and contrast beyond about 20 to 30 degrees off centre. OLED holds up much better. Corner seats decide which panel and bracket make sense.
The screen centre should sit near seated eye level. Above a console that often means 100 to 110 cm, not the 150 cm many installers default to.
We check whether the chosen wall is gypsum or concrete, and where pipes, sockets and data points sit before committing to a spot. A gypsum partition may need a stud fixing or a backing plate for a full-motion bracket. If a power point is far from the TV position, we plan an in-wall kit or a neat raceway.
Doors, walkways and the dining table all compete for the same wall. We make sure the TV does not block a route or face a door.
We start where you actually sit. From the main seat we look at the candidate walls, check for window reflections and measure the distance. If the household watches from several places, such as the sofa and the dining table, we find the position and bracket that serve both.
Next we check the walls. A spot that looks perfect may hide a water pipe or sit on a thin gypsum partition that cannot carry a full-motion arm. We scan before recommending it.
Finally we tape the outline of your TV on the wall at the recommended height. You sit down, look, and change it if it does not feel right. When you are happy, we can mount the same day or book a time that suits you.
